Born and raised in Anchorage, I graduated from AJ Dimond High School in 2019. As the daughter of engineer parents, along with my two brothers I spent my childhood involved many science and business ventures ranging from beekeeping to goat rearing to the construction of many garden beds. These enterprises revealed my passion for agriculture which in combination with my participation in the Dimond Engineering Academy, led to my pursual and completion of a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Purdue University in 2023.
After returning home I began working in the agriculture field for a tribal non-profit that focused on economic development in rural Alaska. I have spent the past six months as a substitute teacher for Lumen, tutoring assorted students, helping my brother remodel his home, and being a steward in the garden. This will be my first year as a full time teacher after taking what feels like the U-turn God has placed in my path.
I am very excited to join the Lumen Christi community and get to know all of the unique individuals that make this body so special. I firmly believe that learning and growing never cease – it is part of what makes being human so cool! I look forward to learning with you this year.
In my spare time you will find me doing all of the Alaskan things: fishing, hunting, being outside as much as possible. As a lover of local food and agriculture you may also see me at the farmers market or covered in soil and smelling like a goat.
