Hello! I’m Father Tom Lilly, a native of California and a happy resident of the Great State of Alaska since 1991. Born in Long Beach and raised in San Jose, I left California after graduating from the University of Santa Clara in 1981. After traveling for a couple of years, I joined the Air Force in 1985, serving on Active Duty in the Intelligence career field for 11 years and as a Chaplain in the Reserves for 14 years.
After 36 years of “wondering what God wanted me to do with my life,” I entered Mount Angel Seminary in 1996 and there found the answer: to serve God’s people as a Catholic priest. Archbishop Schwietz ordained me as a priest for the Archdiocese of Anchorage on May 24, 2003. After serving for two wonderful years at Saint Patrick Parish in East Anchorage, I was transferred to Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in June of 2005, where I served until being assigned to Saint Benedict Parish and Lumen Christi Catholic High School in 2016.
I consider it a privilege, a blessing, and a great joy to serve and minister with the people of this faith community! In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, hiking, biking, reading and traveling.
Classes: Theology 9; Theology 12/Bioethics
