I was born in Mexico; I have Bachelor Degrees in Geology and Mining Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. When I was living in Mexico, I taught classes in earth science and blasting operations at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.
In 2012, the company I was working for offered me a job position in Alaska as a Technical Services Engineer in blasting operations for mining and construction, so my family and I emigrated directly from Chihuahua. Later, in 2018, the company wanted me in North Carolina, but we decided to stay in Anchorage.
In 2018 after five years of preparation, I was ordained as Deacon in the Catholic Church and have been serving the Hispanic Catholic community in Anchorage since then.
In 2020, I started as a substitute Spanish Teacher at Lumen Christi. I’m now a full-time teacher for Spanish I and II, Theology 8th, and Earth Science 8th and love it! I strive to develop an interest in learning the beautiful Spanish language with my students, and connect science and faith through reason and facts in a happy and safe environment with Catholic values.
My family enjoys outdoor activities in Alaska and we’re all learning how to fish and hunt. In 2021, my wife and I were blessed with our first Alaskan granddaughter.
Classes: Spanish 1 & 2, Theology 8, Science 8
