I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where I graduated from Macomber-Whitney Vocational Technical High School in 1988. I played a variety of sports including baseball, soccer, basketball, and football through elementary and high school. I enlisted in the Air Force after graduation with the intent of serving four years to earn the money for college through the GI Bill. Little did I expect that 4 years would turn into 36!
The Air Force gave me the opportunity to live all over the world, including time spent in Germany, the UK, Japan, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan among others. I very much enjoyed being immersed in various cultures, providing a learning opportunity far beyond the dreams of a young man growing up in Toledo.
While serving on Active Duty I was fortunate to have the chance to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Master’s degrees in Management and Military Science and Operational Art. I was commissioned through the Officer Training School in 2000 and was blessed to be given multiple command opportunities around the world supporting the maintenance of multiple types of aircraft. July marks the end of my service in the Air Force, but provides the opportunity to serve in a different way.
I am excited for the new opportunity to help develop our future leaders at Lumen Christi High School. We first moved to Alaska in 2018, and minus a short 1-year assignment to Ohio, we’ve lived here ever since. We are parishioners at St Andrew parish in Eagle River. My wife Kimberly, a retired Air Force Colonel in her own right, and I married at her hometown church, St Pius in Selinsgrove PA, in 2005. We have a daughter, Danica, who will be entering 7th grade this year. We love dogs and are blessed with 3 four-legged family members that keep us on our toes. When not involved with family and school activities, you can find me playing golf, softball, fishing or riding or working on one of my Harleys.
