Born in Daytona Beach, Florida; I moved with my family to New York, Illinois, Kentucky and finally Alaska when I was entering sixth grade.
Up until that point I was a Catholic school student but as Lumen Christi was not yet open, my parents enrolled me in public school. This ended up being a great decision because Service High School is where I would eventually meet my future husband Josh, and where we would both learn amazing life long lessons from our NJROTC unit.
Josh and I bounced between Alaska, Texas and Arizona in our 26 years of marriage, returning to our beloved Alaska in 2022. We are the proud parents of Caitlin (24) who is married to Brannon and lives in Frisco, Texas; McKenzie (23); Ashley (20); Sydney (18); and Brandon (17) who all live here in Anchorage with us. We are a tight knit family who loves to spend time together camping, hiking, biking, playing board games, crafting and cooking. We also love trying to convince our dog Macintosh and cat Midnight that each of us are their favorite human.
I am a graduate of Texas A&M University, as are my two eldest daughters. I graduated with a BBA in Management and Marketing while serving as the captain of the varsity rifle team and as the founder of the Alaskan Aggies club. Additionally, I earned a Masters in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University. In the fall of 2021 my daughter Caitlin and I began the process of becoming teachers and in October I sat for and passed the content area exam for teaching Social Studies grades 6-12 for the State of Texas.
I have spent the majority of my adult life in service to young people whether as a Girl Scout Leader, Room Parent, PTA President, Catechist or in my most recent role as the Youth and Young Adult Minister for St. Patrick’s Parish here in Anchorage. I am beyond thrilled to join the Lumen Christi family and honored to serve the youth. I am excited to see what we will achieve together throughout the year.
