Alison Craig

This is my 13th year teaching at Lumen Christi High School. I was born and raised outside of Annapolis, MD. I received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Vermont in 2004 and an M.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007. Since receiving my masters, I have worked in the private school setting teaching a variety of science and math classes. During my summers in Colorado I worked in the environmental consulting industry, which brought me to Alaska in the summer of 2008 for baseline work at a mining exploration project. In 2010, I relocated to Alaska and joined the amazing community of Lumen Christi High School.  Since, I have taught a range of math courses, from pre-algebra to calculus as well as science at both the junior high and high school levels. Since moving to Alaska, I am still able to involve myself in remote environmental research. Currently, I work on an NSF funded Earthscope project that installs remote seismic detectors across the state of Alaska.

I strive to meet each student at their level and create a dynamic classroom that engages all levels and styles of learners.

In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, running and hiking, skiing and camping with my husband and dog.  My husband and I recently completed the 500 mile pilgrimage hike, the Camino de Santiago that begins in the western Pyrenees Mountains through central Spain to Santiago.
