Extended until Monday, May 4th-Help Pets in Need: Many cats and dogs are abandoned for no reason of their own and find themselves in shelters. If they are lucky, their lives will be spared (Mat-Su Animal Shelter) or else they go to Anchorage Animal Control, where they will be euthanized if a rescue organizations doesn’t take them in. Lumen wants to help those rescue shelters. Mrs. Carlson is the official spokesperson for those who can’t talk for themselves. She is organizing a Pet Supply Drive for cats and dogs. Details of what to donate will be forthcoming. In the meanwhile you can start collecting old newspapers. The collection goes to SPCA Pet Food Bank and the AK Dog and Puppy rescue in Palmer.
