Today, students in Alaska history took on the roles of cannery workers and owners, commercial fisherman, the press, Department of Fish and Game employees, Alaska Native people, small business owners, sports fisherman, supply store owners, and fish trap watchmen…..all to debate the use of fish traps in Alaska in the 1950s.
While this ultimately became a bigger discussion on whether the federal government supported Alaskans or big business prior to Alaska becoming a state, students got to use their positions to argue with gusto. We love that many students brought outfits that fit their roles!

It was a busy weekend for members of our DDF (Drama, Debate, Forensics) Team over the weekend. Hats off to Mr. Morales for coaching 9th grader Henry to the finals in Pantomime; 12th graders Lucille and Lane to the finals in Improvised Duet Acting, and 11th grader Aurora to the finals in Extemporaneous Communication - who was then awarded first place!
Congrats to our mighty DDF Archangels - We’re proud of how you represent our school! ... See MoreSee Less

We were honored to have two members from the St. Benedict’s Knights of Columbus join us at Mass today for a ceremonial laying of the wreath to commemorate Veteran’s Day.
Additionally, the Knights helped us to recognize the members of our staff who have served (Mr. Berry, Mrs. Bouton, Mr. Ross and Fr. Tom) as well as our military spouses (Mrs. Herschberger, Mrs. Spillers and Mrs. Guzman [not pictured]).
Thank you Knights Jim Seeberger and John Tibor for helping us honor and remember all veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
Thank you to all have served, are currently serving and especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our nation and freedom.
School will be closed on Monday, November 11th as we join with the rest of the nation in continuing our remembrance. ... See MoreSee Less

When I went to vote today there were a number of adults who had their children with them. It’s a good way for them to see their parents example of good citizenship.
May this be the same result in the national election!
Awesome life lesson, 🤩 thanks to Mrs Haslett & Lumen Christi for making it happen!! 🇺🇸🙌
Yesterday, our biology classes finished up their unit on macromolecules. Working in teams, students had to design a protein bar to provide nutrition for people who live in food insecurity areas of the world.
Using only ingredients found in their country of study, students had to calculate individual serving size lipids, proteins, complex and simple carbohydrates, and then make, produce and design packaging for a bar that was both tasty and nutritious.
