PVO President and Vice President Needed: We are in dire need of a PVO President and Vice President who can work together as a team along with our PVO Secretary, Jessica Lirette. These roles are vital to the success of our school and its many events and fundraising activities. Each of these positions would receive “Auto-Earn” parent share hours. It’s a great way to get involved in what makes Lumen so special…it’s parents, alumni, teachers, staff, St. Benedict’s parish, and of course our amazing students. Without a successful PVO and its fundraising activities, tuition may have to increase…please prayerfully consider volunteering to be Lumen Christi’s PVO President or Vice President.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: On October 21st and 22nd students will have a ½ day of school for parent-teacher conferences. The conferences will be held in the student room at the following time schedule: Wednesday, October 21st from 3-7pm and Thursday from 1-4pm. Please come at your convenience during the designated conference times to meet with the teachers. If you have any questions, please call the office. On Wednesday the 21st, students will follow a Friday Mass A schedule with dismissal for the day at 12:35. On Thursday the 22nd, students will follow a Friday B schedule with dismissal at 12:20pm. Friday the 23rd is No School for teacher in-service.
Lumen’s Annual Spiketacular Volleyball Tournament: Last year, our volleyball tournament brought approximately $10,000 to our school. Not only is it a great fundraiser it also raises awareness about Lumen Christi throughout the state. This year, we have 16 teams participating in our tournament which is very exciting. As you may guess, this tournament needs lots of help to be a success…please sign up today to help raise a significant amount of money for our school and enjoy some great volleyball games too! Student Government Clare House Drive: Student Government is organizing a community outreach for Clare House. Items needed consist of: diapers (sizes 4, 5, & 6), shampoo, conditioner, hair ties, q-tips, deodorant, and brushes. Student Government will collect items for the drive from October 12th through October 23rd. Students who donate items will receive a dress down day.
Mat-Su DAV Gun Show: The Gun Show is hosted and put on by the Mat-Su DAV. Lumen Christi parents and students volunteer at the event by running concessions, collecting entrance fees, helping vendors set-up on Friday the 27th, and help take down and clean up after the event is over.
