Junior High Testing: Junior High testing will take place on April 5th & 7th. Testing will take place in the morning with regular classes in the afternoon.
Open House: We have heard many times that Lumen Christi is Anchorage’s best kept secret…let’s not keep it a secret anymore!! Share with family and friends about our wonderful school and encourage them to come check us out. Our open house will be held on April 7th at 6:30pm.
Drama Club Performance: Come see the Drama Club’s performance of “The Importance of Being Earnest” on April 8th and 9th at APU’s Grant Hall at 7pm. Tickets are on sale for $5 each. You may purchase them from a Drama student or at the front office.
Taking Over Tastee Freez: Mark your calendars for April 27th when Lumen Christi takes over Tastee Freez. Some of our very own 11th graders will work behind the counter that evening from 4-9pm. Lumen Christi will earn 10{d4876d85bca45a190b33d6c696456a399841af28eb325342d1f9ba09483f3a19} of the earnings during this “take over” time.
Re-Enrollment Paperwork: Re-enrollment paperwork has gone out, please turn it in at your earliest convenience. If you are moving and you know your student will not be returning, please let the office know so that we can anticipate our enrollment numbers. If you have questions, please give the office a call. After April 1st, the enrollment fee increases from $100 to $250.
Senior All-Star Basketball: Johanna Estes was selected to the Alaska Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Basketball Game on April 16, 2016 at 2:30pm at Dimond High School. Come cheer her on!
Reminder on Reporting Absences: Just a friendly reminder that a parent is to call Lumen Christi’s office as early as possible to report when a student will be absent. An email or voice message may be left if no one is in the office at the time of your call. A student who is absent from Lumen Christi without a parent or guardian’s excuse within a reasonable time-frame is considered truant. Thank you in advance for your efforts in keeping the office informed of your child’s absences.
Our Lady of the Valley Auction: Each year, teachers and staff from Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School volunteer their time to help us with our auction. This is a great opportunity for Lumen to give back in return. They are requesting help from our high school aged students who would assist them at their auction on April 16th as runners and table assistants. Also, if there are any teachers or parents that would like to help, they would appreciate that as well. All interested volunteers should contact Karen Smith at ksmith@valleycatholicschool.
High School Prom: This year’s prom theme is Arabian Nights and will be held at the Tanglewood Chalet on April 22nd from 8pm-11pm. Let us know if you are interested in helping with decorations for prom.
Tuition Assistance: The deadline to apply for financial assistance is July 15th, 2016. Click on the following link to apply through Covenant Tuition Services: http://cts-tuition.com/app/
