PVO Meeting, November 17th: How would you like to earn money for Lumen without selling items or raffle tickets to all of your families and friends? How would you like to earn money for Lumen without donating your precious time? Sound Good? Please join us on Tuesday, November 17th at 6:30pm in the Library to learn about Scrip. It’s a way for Lumen to earn money while you shop from your favorite stores. Scrip has been around for over 20 years and depending on participation from Lumen families and friends, we could earn thousands of dollars for our school!! Please come learn more about this great opportunity. There will be refreshments and students will earn a dress down day if their parent(s) attend. We look forward to seeing you there.
November 19th Lunch Announcement: Next Thursday, November 19th, our students will not be able to have lunch in the parish hall due to a parish event. Please plan to send a cold lunch to school with your child on this day. Student Government will be unable to serve lunch that day so every student needs to bring a lunch. The school does not have enough microwaves to accommodate everyone so cold lunches will be most helpful.
November 25th Holiday Schedule: Please remember that we have a modified schedule Thanksgiving week (November 23-27). Wednesday is a Friday B Mass schedule (Mass with periods 4, 5, lunch, and 6) with a 12:35 PM dismissal. Teachers will be at the school until 2:30 PM. If you cannot pick up your students until 2:30 PM, they may stay at the school and study in the library. However, we respectfully ask that all students are picked up by 2:30 PM so the faculty and staff can leave on time to prepare and enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday time. There is no school on Thursday, November 26 or Friday, November 27.
Gala Request: Theresa Brown is requesting thin boxes such as the ones you see in the below picture. She is creating some decorations for the Gala and needs lots of them. They can be brought to Lumen Christi’s office.

In order for the LUMENary drive to be successful, everyone’s participation is important, no matter what size of your donation.
Winter Weather Reminder: Just a reminder that as winter approaches, so does the possibility for school closures. If the Anchorage School District (ASD) cancels or delays the start of school, so does Lumen Christi. - We have a few guaranteed spaces left. Those who register quickly and get these spaces will be set.
- After these spaces are filled, we will need to go to the tour company for each request and see if they can acquire space.
- Once the tour company is no longer able to get people acquire space, then we will start a waiting list in case any of our pilgrims end up cancelling.

NEW School Fundraiser-Scrip: We have a wonderful opportunity for Lumen Christi to fundraise money year round! The program is called Scrip. Good news: It’s really simple!
The Basics of a Scrip Program
- You buy retail gift cards through Lumen Scrip program at face value.
- Cards can be purchased online (Presto Pay) or through the coordinator.
- Choose from nearly 400 national retail stores where you already shop. (Attached is an alphabetical list of retailers)
- Your organization buys the gift cards at 1-13{d4876d85bca45a190b33d6c696456a399841af28eb325342d1f9ba09483f3a19} less than face value (varies by retailer).
- The difference between face value and what you or your organization pays = your organization’s earnings.
- Your fundraising has begun!
Here’s an Example:
Mrs. Smith needs some gardening supplies, so she buys a $100 The Home Depot® gift card for $100 through her son’s school scrip fundraiser.
Cha-ching! She just earned $4 for the school because The Home Depot gift cards are available from Great Lakes Scrip Center at 4{d4876d85bca45a190b33d6c696456a399841af28eb325342d1f9ba09483f3a19} less than
face value. When Mrs. Smith checks out at The Home Depot, she pays with her The Home Depot gift card instead of using a credit or debit
card! She will do the same thing when she needs cleaning supplies at Target®, and earn $2.50 just by using a $100 Target GiftCard to pay
for her purchases.
All we need the Lumen families to do is:
1) Go to the Scrip Website: https://www.shopwithscrip.com/
2) Setup and account using Lumen Family Enrollment Code: B968B67E44853
3) Start Shopping for gift cards to the stores we already shop at!
