Principal’s Update: We finished up Catholic Schools Week with a beautiful community Mass with the parishioners of St. Benedict’s on Feb 5th. Thank you to the 20+ families who attended this very special event!
Our high school basketball teams and our junior high volleyball team have been very busy and engaged in competitions around the state. With only a few weeks left in the season, we encourage you to come out to a game and support our proud Archangels!
For those that missed the State of the School on January 30th, we have posted our slide presentation as well as a short report of the evening on our website. At the end of the presentation, I provided a list of 10 things that friends of Lumen can do to help light the path to the future for our school. That list is:
1) Talk about the 4 great things about our school to anyone you know
2) Attend the Community Mass on Sunday, Feb 5th
3) Invite a prospective family to the Open House on Mar 7th
4) Volunteer to serve as a Parent/Student Ambassador
5) Volunteer at the Archangel Attic
6) Volunteer with Friday afternoon Faith in Action opportunities
7) Volunteer to sell concessions at our home games
8) Support the Gala (attend, invite others, volunteer, find donations)
9) Donate to the LUMENARY Drive and invite at least 5 of your friends and family to do the same
10) Commit to SCRIP, Fred Meyer Rewards, Pick.Click.Give., and Amazon Smile
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or comments. Go Lumen!
Re-enrollment Packets: Re-enrollment packets have been sent home with your children and if you have any questions, please let me know. As a reminder of what those fees are, there is a commitment fee of $100.00 and the book & technology fee which is $300.00 (after March 31st the commitment fee will increase to $250.00).

- Calling all bakers!! Do you love to bake? Would you like to make and donate a delicious dessert to our 3rd annual Dessert Dash? If baking is not your thing but you’d like to help…consider making a cash donation towards the purchase of a dessert at a local bakery or maybe you have a friend or relative that would like to donate. Desserts need to feed a table of 8-10 guests. Please contact the Gala office at 907-273-1530 or at Gala@lumenchristiak.org if you’d like to help. Last year’s Dessert Dash raised more that $8000.00!!!
- Individual tickets and tables to attend the event are on sale now. Contact the gala office or Mrs. Estes if you want to purchase.
- Now is the time to decide if you would like to attend the event and help out before and/or after, or if you would like to volunteer during event night. There are still several volunteer opportunities available the weekend of the event. The Gala volunteer sign-up sheet can be found here: http://signup.com/go/sEDn4i Not sure how you can help? Just ask and we will help find a job for you.
